A matter is one client case (e.g. one I-130 family petition, one asylum application). Inside a matter you can draft as many documents as you need — declarations, briefs, RFE responses, exhibit lists, cover letters — all for that one charge. Drafts are never metered.

What's the difference between a seat and a matter?

A seat is one user account (an attorney or support staff member who logs in). A matter is one client case someone on your team can work on. Most solo attorneys start at the minimum (1 seat + 10 matters for $250/mo). Larger teams add seats as they add staff, and add matters as their volume grows.

Why is my first seat included?

Every firm needs at least one attorney to use the platform, so the first seat is bundled into the base plan. Additional attorneys and support staff are $100 per seat per month.

What happens if I add or remove seats or matters mid-period?

We prorate the difference automatically. Adding mid-month adds a partial-month charge; removing mid-month credits the unused portion to your next invoice.

What happens if I use all my matters?

Nothing surprising. New matters simply pause until you either raise your allowance (prorated automatically) or your firm's billing admin turns on overage billing — $20 per additional matter. Overages are off by default, so you're never billed for overages you didn't opt into.

Why do extra matters get cheaper after the first 10?

We pass on the volume discount. The first 10 matters are $25 each (so 10 matters = $250). Matters 11 and beyond are $10 each. At 35 matters your bill is $500, and it scales smoothly from there.
