Drafty AI - AI-powered legal drafting for immigration attorneys

What DraftyAI Is

DraftyAI is one workspace where U.S. immigration attorneys work matter by matter. You add a client, open a matter, and move that matter through a single path: outline, draft, review, export. There is no menu of separate tools to learn — the same workflow carries every filing.

How you work in it

You work one matter at a time, and every matter follows the same path:

  1. Add a client — the person or entity you represent. You enter their details once and reuse that record across every matter you ever open for them.
  2. Open a matter — one specific engagement for that client: a petition, a waiver, a brief, an RFE response. The matter is where everything that follows lives.
  3. Build the outline — a risk-first strategy pass that maps your evidence to the legal framework, flags deadlines and bars, and sets the direction for the draft.
  4. Draft the document — the matter assembles your petition, brief, or response, starting from the outline you built.
  5. Review and edit — the draft comes back section by section to read, edit, and verify, with cited authorities flagged for you to confirm.
  6. Export — the finished draft produces a downloadable Word document you file.

This is the spine of the product: client → matter → outline → draft → review → export. Once you have done it once, every matter after it feels the same.

The matter is the spine

A matter is the central unit of work in DraftyAI, and everything saves back to it. It is one legal engagement, and it always belongs to a client — one client can carry many matters over the years.

Each matter holds its outline, its drafts, the letters and translations you produce, the client files you upload to ground the work, and a running history of what has happened on the case. The matter page is the screen you live on while you work: it shows the matter's progress from outline to draft to review, surfaces the recommended next step, and keeps every document the matter has produced in one place.

Opening a matter is free. You can create as many as you need to organize your practice; nothing is charged until you run your first AI generation on a matter.

What it covers

DraftyAI is built for the arc of U.S. immigration practice:

  • USCIS affirmative filings — employment-based, family-based, humanitarian, and naturalization matters.
  • Immigration court (EOIR) — matters before the immigration courts.
  • Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) — administrative appeals.
  • Federal appeals — matters at the circuit-court level.

It is a B2B product for U.S. immigration attorneys and their teams — paralegals, legal-ops managers, and firm admins. It is not built for, and is not intended for, pro se filers handling their own cases.

Specialized matters are handled automatically

Some filings need a focused flow — an RFE or NOID response, an asylum case, an I-601A waiver, a naturalization checklist, a translation, an expert letter, or an affidavit. You do not pick these flows from a menu.

Instead, the system reads what you are producing and the matter's type, then routes the matter into the right flow on its own. You take one Draft action; DraftyAI sends a general matter to standard drafting and a specialized matter to its dedicated flow. For what changes inside each of those flows, see Specialized Matter Types.

Finding your way around

The left rail gives you five places to work:

  • Dashboard — the home screen and an intent router. It opens with "What are we working on today?", reads what you type or pick, and sends you to the right matter or flow. It never dead-ends.
  • Matters — the list of every matter across your practice. Open one to land on its workspace.
  • Clients — the list of the people and entities you represent. From a client you add new matters and link their files.
  • My Drafts — shown in-app as Draft History: a repository of every draft and outline you have generated, across all clients, with search, filters, and downloads.
  • Templates — your firm's templates and past-work library to draft from.

You review and own every filing

DraftyAI accelerates drafting — it does not replace your review or your judgment. It produces a fast, informed first pass; you read it, edit it, verify the facts and authorities, and decide what gets filed.

DraftyAI is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Your expertise, your judgment, and your ethical obligations are what make the work yours. You review, edit, and are solely responsible for every document you file.
